Illuminating discussion: Craig Federighi and Phil Schiller on the concept of “differential privacy” to protect customers’ privacy

So I watched the cringe fest that was WWDC, and was unimpressed.

However, in this interview with Apple execs (Phill Shiller & Craig F) explain “differential privacy”… and it’s actually pretty ingenious.

Like, the penny really dropped. 
I despise Facebook (I joined a few months ago) and Google, but they’re both useful services. An authoritarian government in a dystopian future (or just a bad employee*) is able to see everything about your life. It’s potentially dangerous.

* think about what Edward Snowden said about people spying on former partners. That’s unacceptable. No one should have that power.
